Welcome to the engagement page for Wallingford area Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan.

We want to make walking, wheeling and cycling easier and more enjoyable for all in the Wallingford area. We have drafted a document called a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP). The document has been drafted with input from the local community.

What is an LCWIP?

An LCWIP is a plan that identifies walking and cycling routes for local journeys e.g. to school, work and amenities now and in the future and suggests improvements to these routes to support more people to walk, wheel and cycle. Walking, wheeling and cycling for journeys can help us stay healthy, increase happiness and enable us to reconnect with nature.

You can read more information about Oxfordshire County Council's approach to LCWIP's.

Wallingford Area LCWIP – APPENDIX A – Background Information

Wallingford Area LCWIP – APPENDIX B – Audit Report

Once you have reviewed the information, we would like to hear your views on the Wallingford Area LCWIP, including whether the most important active travel routes and improvements have been identified and what we can do to make the plan better.

Please fill in our online survey by clicking the ‘TAKE SURVEY’ button below.

We realise that walking, wheeling and cycling is not an option for everyone. We would especially like to hear the views of people who find it challenging to walk, wheel or cycle in the Wallingford Area and whether our plan meets your needs.

We will not share any of your personal information from this consultation.

What happens next?

The consultation closes at 11:59pm on 7 January 2026. We will then review all comments and where appropriate, incorporate these into the plan. The final version of the plan will then go through a process at Oxfordshire County Council that will allow it to be formally adopted as council policy. This will help us to bid for funding, as it becomes available, to improve walking, wheeling and cycling conditions in the Wallingford Area.
