Help shape the future of libraries in Oxfordshire

What it is all about?

The Oxfordshire Library Service is thinking about what it should look like in the future and it needs your input. We want you to share your views on what:

  • is good about your library service
  • you’d like to see more of from libraries
  • could be better / why you don’t use the library
  • libraries should focus on going forward

The County Council has a statutory duty to provide libraries. We have a vibrant network of 45 libraries across the county, plus a growing digital offer, and a diverse and popular cultural engagement programme.

Your feedback will shape the future of the library service in Oxfordshire, over the next few years. As a thank you for your time, you will receive a buffet lunch and you can claim a £15 thank you payment for taking part, in addition to transport costs.

Where, when and who?

The event will be happening on Thursday 28 May from 11am until 1pm in central Oxford (near the Westgate Library). As spaces are limited, only those with confirmed places will be able to attend the event. You will hear by Thursday 21 May, if you have a space along with the details of where to go.

The session will be run by council staff (who are DBS checked). We hope that there will be about 8-12 young people from across Oxfordshire who will attend.

Lunch and snacks will be provided.

What will participants get out of attending?

You will be helping your community and being an active citizen by taking part and sharing your views. You will meet new people and get to sharpen up your social skills. A free lunch and snacks are also provided.

We will also give you £15.00 thank you payment, cover public travel expenses, and you’ll get a certificate to show you took part at the event.

If you want to join us in Central Oxford, on Thursday 28 May at 11-1pm, sign up now!
