This initial consultation closed on 23rd February. A statutory consultation will take place from 9th March to 6th April 2022.
Consultation on a proposal to expand Woodstock Church of England Primary School
Oxfordshire County Council, working with the leadership team of the school, proposes to expand Woodstock CE Primary School from 1.5 forms of entry to 2 forms of entry. This would mean an increase in Woodstock’s annual admission number in September 2023 from 45 to 60 on a permanent basis.
This consultation is about theprincipleof expanding Woodstock CE Primary School.
The next step, after consideration of consultation responses, would be for the publication of a statutory Public Notice, which is when interested parties can formally respond to the proposal. We would currently expect this to be published in March 2022, after which there would be 4 weeks to submit formal objections or support. The Oxfordshire County Council Cabinet Member responsible for Education would then decide whether to approve the proposal to expand the school. We would expect this decision to be made in May 2022.

This would mean an increase in Woodstock’s annual admission number in September 2023 from 45 to 60 on a permanent basis. The proposed expansion of the school would mean that each year group that starts at the school from September 2023 onward would consist of up to 60 places, making a maximum total of 420 pupils in Reception to Year 6 across the whole school eventually. In this consultation we are seeking your views on the principle of expanding the school. There is a separate planning application consultation about the details of the accommodation which would be provided.
