Wheatley: Church Road - proposed parking restrictions

We're asking for your views on the proposal to remove the ‘unrestricted’ parking provision (space for approx. six vehicles) on the north side of Church Road, Wheatley by introducing three additional sections of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) joining up the current parking prohibition.

These proposals follow a previous consultation carried out in April 2024 (details here) for wider parking restriction amendments in Wheatley, which were subsequently approved and implemented in September 2024. Subsequently, requests to review the situation have been received from the local County Councillor, Wheatley Parish Council, and Oxford bus company - monitoring & feedback has shown the current situation to be difficult for buses to manoeuvre around, especially when facing oncoming traffic.

What happens next?

The County Council will review the responses and if necessary (i.e. if objections are received) prepare a report to be presented to the Cabinet Member for Highway Management at a meeting scheduled for later in 2025. This will be public meeting at which members of the public may apply to speak. The agenda and reports for meetings will be made available on the Oxfordshire County Council web site about a week before the meeting (please note that occasionally it is necessary to defer reports to a later meeting, and it is therefore advisable to check the agenda ahead of attending a meeting).
