We're asking for your views on the proposal to introduce a 30mphspeed limit on the B480 Cuxham Road in Watlington, replacing a 400 metre length of the current 50mph speed limit north of the roundabout junction with Willow Close in the process. The proposals are being put forward to assist in reducing vehicle speeds (thus improving safety) on the approach to the new access points and roundabout junction along Cuxham Road, which serve the development site & the new homes being constructed at the northwestern edge of Watlington.
The updated proposals replace those that were consulted on in April 2022 (see here for details) that have since gone past the statutory two-year limit in which to implement, which related to speed limit changes along both Cuxham Road and Pyrton Lane. The Pyrton Lane proposals have now been removed from the current s278 application and are therefore no longer included.

The County Council will review the responses and if necessary (i.e. if objections are received) prepare a report to be presented to the Cabinet Member for Highway Management at a meeting scheduled for early in 2025. This will be public meeting at which members of the public may apply to speak. The agenda and reports for meetings will be made available on the Oxfordshire County Council web site about a week before the meeting (please note that occasionally it is necessary to defer reports to a later meeting, and it is therefore advisable to check the agenda ahead of attending a meeting).
