Thame Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP)
Consultation has concluded
Welcome to the engagement page for the Thame local cycling and walking infrastructure plan (LCWIP).
We want to make walking, wheeling and cycling easier and more enjoyable for all in Thame. We have drafted a document called a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP). The document has been drafted with input from the local community to help us achieve this.
What is an LCWIP?
An LCWIP is a plan that identifies walking and cycling routes for local journeys e.g. to school, work and amenities now and in the future and suggests improvements to these routes to support more people to walk, wheel and cycle. Walking, wheeling and cycling for journeys can help us stay healthy, increase happiness and enable us to reconnect with nature.
You can read more information about Oxfordshire County Council's approach to LCWIPs.
Have your say on the Thame LCWIP
Please read the supporting information, which can be found below or in the Supporting documents section of this page on the right-hand side of the page.
Once you have reviewed the information, we would like to hear your views on the Thame LCWIP, including whether the most important active travel routes and improvements have been identified and what we can do to make the plan better.
Please fill in our online survey by clicking the ‘TAKE SURVEY’ button below.
We realise that walking, wheeling and cycling is not an option for everyone. We would especially like to hear the views of people who find it challenging to walk, wheel or cycle in Thame and whether our plan meets your needs.
We will not share any of your personal information from this consultation.
What happens next?
The consultation closes on 29 July 2025. We will then review all comments and where appropriate, incorporate these into the plan. The final version of the plan will then go through a process at Oxfordshire County Council that will allow it to be formally adopted as council policy. This will help us to bid for funding as it becomes available to improve walking, wheeling and cycling conditions in Thame.
