This Consultation has now concluded.

We're asking for your views on the proposal to introduce new & amend existing ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) parking prohibitions in some residential streets within South Oxfordshire. Restrictions will be introduced/amended as follows:

  • Crowmarsh, The Street - remove a 32 metre section of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) within the layby on the southern side of The Street, outside property nos. 74-82. The proposal will provide approximately 6 unrestricted parking places for residents and their visitors in the immediate vicinity,
  • Didcot, the B4493 Wantage Road - new ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) are being proposed in Didcot, on both sides from its roundabout junction with Foxhall Road/Broadway, westwards to a point beyond the junction with Barley Fields. The restrictions aim to keep the new cycle lane clear of vehicles obstructing the safe passage of traffic along it,
  • Garsington, Pettiwell - new ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) parking restrictions between the existing restrictions in the vicinity of the adjacent commercial premises (vehicle dismantlers), which will help with the safe movement of motor vehicles and other traffic in the vicinity, and also ensure that danger to road users is minimised.

Finally, following a previous consultation for proposals on Thame Road in Warborough carried out in 2019 (with subsequent approval given in January 2020), amended proposals for Thame Road are being put forward to help ensure appropriate visibility is maintained, thus helping to protect the more vulnerable road users:

  • a reduced length of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) either side of Six Acres (i.e. the access to the new residential development), and
  • the School Keep Clear markings also to be changed from an advisory to an enforceable restriction between 8am & 5pm Monday to Fridays.

Please read the detailed information provided on this consultation, and take the time to complete the survey as your views and opinions matter. Your response should be completed and returned by Friday 06 May 2022. Oxfordshire County Council will collate all correspondence and comments received in response to this consultation, and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Whilst we will endeavour to answer simple queries during the course of the consultation, any more complex questions/issues will be appraised and dealt with as part of consultation process.

What happens next?

The County Council will review the responses and if necessary (i.e. if objections are received) prepare a report to be presented to the Cabinet Member for Highway Management at a meeting scheduled for later in 2022. This will be public meeting at which members of the public may apply to speak. The agenda and reports for meetings will be made available on the Oxfordshire County Council web site about a week before the meeting (please note that occasionally it is necessary to defer reports to a later meeting, and it is therefore advisable to check the agenda ahead of attending a meeting).
