Background

Oxfordshire County Council has the aim for Oxfordshire to become smokefree (smoking prevalence below 5%) by 2025. To achieve this aim, the Tobacco Control Strategy 2020-25 was developed. There are four main pillars of the Tobacco Control Strategy 2020-25, one of these being 'Creating Smokefree Environments'. Smoke-free environments are an essential element in a comprehensive approach to tobacco control, addressed in both Article 8 of the World Health Organization’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC)1.

The Smokefree Community Fund aims to support charities/organisations to create their own smokefree environments, to de-normalise smoking in Oxfordshire, and to protect members of the public from the harms of second-hand smoke. For more information, please see the Smokefree Community Fund flyer under Documents.

Please contact smokefreeoxon@oxfordshire.gov.uk before filling in the application form, as we would like to discuss your organisation's project beforehand. Once you have done this, please complete the application form by clicking 'Complete Form' below.
