We're asking for your views on the proposal to formalise the existing parking restriction amendments on Wren Road in Oxford, which were introduced informally in November 2025 as part of the Cutteslowe 'School Zone' scheme.

In November 2025 changes to the existing parking restrictions and increasing the provision of Disabled Persons Parking Places were implemented in the cul-de-sac section at the northern end of Wren Road in Oxford as part of the ‘Cutteslowe School Zone Scheme’, which followed the conclusion of an informal consultation carried out with local residents and other key-stakeholders.

The proposals have been implemented to help manage the amount of traffic using the highway adjacent to Cutteslowe School Zone Scheme, and the County Council has worked with the school to address safety concerns around traffic congestion and cycling outside the entrance to the school on Wren Road at peak times of the day. The location of the entrance to the school is where National Cycle Network (NCN) Route 51 merges with Wren Road, and many cyclists use this busy route at peak times of the day, resulting in large amounts of cycles passing very close to the school entrance at peak times, including school start and finish times.

Have your say.

Please read the detailed information provided on this consultation and take the time to complete the survey as your views and opinions matter. Your response should be completed and returned by 5pm on Friday 24 April 2026.

Whilst we will endeavor to answer simple queries during the course of the consultation, any more complex questions/issues will be appraised and dealt with as part of consultation process.

What happens next?

The County Council will review the responses and if necessary (i.e. if objections are received) prepare a report to be presented to the Cabinet Member for Highway Management at a meeting scheduled for later in 2026. This will be public meeting at which members of the public may apply to speak. The agenda and reports for meetings will be made available on the Oxfordshire County Council web site about a week before the meeting (please note that occasionally it is necessary to defer reports to a later meeting, and it is therefore advisable to check the agenda ahead of attending a meeting). The Forward Plan of decisions meetings can be viewed here.
