This consultation has now concluded.
In order to help facilitate the introduction of the proposed Experimental Traffic Regulation Order in Broad Street, which will see the implementation of a new 'public realm' scheme (details of scheme & approval available here) we're asking for your views on the proposals to introduce new & amend existing parking restrictions in parts of St Giles, Parks Road, and Turl Street.
Changes to existing parking in Parks Road, with a section of `Pay and Display` parking to be removed outside Wadham College leaving space for 5 vehicles. This is to allow for an additional 4 Disabled Persons Parking Bays, and for a Bus drop-off point to mitigate the losses in Broad Street.
The loss of motorcycle parking from Broad Street will result in added places in St Giles south of the Lamb & Flag PH, extending the existing motor cycle parking at that location.
The provision of an additional cycle parking area in Turl Street outside Exeter College also responds to demand to extend this facility.
Please read the detailed information provided on this consultation, and take the time to complete the survey as your views and opinions matter. Your response should be completed and returned by Friday 16 September 2022.
Whilst we will endeavour to answer simple queries during the course of the consultation, any more complex questions/issues will be appraised and dealt with as part of consultation process.
What happens next?
The County Council will review the responses and if necessary (i.e. if objections are received) prepare a report to be presented to the Cabinet Member for Highway Management at a meeting scheduled for later in 2022. This will be public meeting at which members of the public may apply to speak. The agenda and reports for meetings will be made available on the Oxfordshire County Council web site about a week before the meeting (please note that occasionally it is necessary to defer reports to a later meeting, and it is therefore advisable to check the agenda ahead of attending a meeting).
