Statutory Proposal - Extension of age range at Nettlebed Community Primary School
Following a 5-week informal consultation from 5 April to 10 May 2022, Oxfordshire County Council, working with the leadership team of the school now formally proposes to extend the age range of Nettlebed Community Primary School to 3-11.
The proposed age range extension would allow the school to create a nursery class and ensure the continued provision of early years and childcare places in the village following the expected closure of Happy Days Pre-School at the end of the summer term 2022.
The informal consultation received 26 responses supporting the proposal and 3 requests for clarification on opening hours and chargeable services. The dialogue opened by the initial consultation will help Nettlebed School to further develop their proposed provision to best meet the needs of families and children.

UPDATE: On 19 July 2022 the Cabinet Member approved the recommendation to extend the age range of Nettlebed Community Primary School to 3-11. This will be implemented from 1 September 2022.

Oxfordshire County Council, working with the Governing Body of the school, is proposing to alter Nettlebed Primary School’s age range from 4-11 to 3-11 and create a nursery class. This change will enable the school to continue to offer early years and childcare provision following the intended closure of Happy Days Pre-school which currently operates within the school.
