Oxfordshire County Council has recently received funding from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to help develop local government public health research both in Oxfordshire and across Thames Valley and the South Midlands.

Activities across local government can affect public health, everything from transport planning to housing infrastructure. This survey focuses on public health research, by which we mean research that is performed or used with the aim of improving population health and narrowing health inequalities, irrespective of the local authority department involved.

The survey aims to identify barriers and enablers to how public health research is used and generated by local authorities. It also aims to identify potential local public health research priorities for Thames Valley and South Midlands.

Your participation in this survey will help identify the local authority public health research needs of the region with a view to developing a regional public health research strategy.
