This consultation has now concluded.

We're asking for your views on the proposal to introduce new parking restrictions within Kingham & Church Hanborough, West Oxfordshire to help provide convenient & safe movement traffic, ensure that danger is minimised, and facilitate the effective and safe passage of traffic.

In order to help prevent obstructive parking and improve road safety on both sides of Church Street adjacent to Saint Andrews Church in Kingham, Oxfordshire County Council is proposing to introduce new ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow line) parking prohibitions. The proposals will cover both sides of the bend and seek to deter dangerous parking on the narrow carriageway, with the double yellow line parking restrictions aiming to prevent head-on conflict.

Additionally, following on from the recent consultation (see here) on proposals to introduce a ‘No Waiting’ restriction on Monday to Fridays between 11am & noon throughout the ‘Hanborough Park’ estate in Long Hanborough, which were approved at the Cabinet Members decision meeting in February 2023 (item no.36/23 here) – it is now proposed to further restrict parking by introducing ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) on both sides of Regents Drive at its junction with the A4095 Main Road. These additional proposals are deemed necessary due to the danger and obstruction of cars parking just beyond the existing parking restrictions where there is also a bend in the road.

Have your say.

Please read the detailed information provided on this consultation and take the time to complete the survey as your views and opinions matter. Your response should be completed and returned by 5pm on Friday 05 May 2023.

Whilst we will endeavor to answer simple queries during the course of the consultation, any more complex questions/issues will be appraised and dealt with as part of consultation process.

What happens next?

The County Council will review the responses and if necessary (i.e. if objections are received) prepare a report to be presented to the Cabinet Member for Highway Management at a meeting scheduled for later in 2023. This will be public meeting at which members of the public may apply to speak. The agenda and reports for meetings will be made available on the Oxfordshire County Council web site about a week before the meeting (please note that occasionally it is necessary to defer reports to a later meeting, and it is therefore advisable to check the agenda ahead of attending a meeting). The Forward Plan of decisions meetings can be viewed here.
