The Stoke Lyne Footpath No. 3 (part) and Bridleway No. 21 (part) Modification Order 2024
Oxfordshire County Council made the Modification Order to amend the alignment of the public bridleway running from Stoke Lyne Bridleway No. 20 at OS grid reference SP 5547 2805 north via SP 5546 2826 for 284m to SP 5544 2833 to a route running from SP 5551 2805 north-north-east for 119m to SP 5554 2817, then north-north-west for 168m via the W end of FP3 at SP 5550 2828 ) to SP 5548 2833 and northwest for 36m to SP 5544 2833. This necessitates a short section of Footpath No. 3 to be deleted between SP 5546 2826 running east-north-east for approximately 36m to grid reference SP 5550 2828. These routes are shown on the Order plan, a copy of which can be found on the right hand side.
The council made this Order because there is sufficient evidence to show that the Definitive Map is in error and the legal line of Bridleway No. 21 is currently recorded on the wrong alignment. This Order amends the legal line onto that which has always been in use on the ground and was originally recorded by the Stopping Up of Highways (County of Oxfordshire) (No.2) Order 1993. As a consequence, a short section of Footpath No 3 was removed from the map.
