Welcome to the engagement page for Wantage and Grove Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP).

We want to make walking, wheeling and cycling easier and more enjoyable for all in Wantage and Grove. We have drafted a document called a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) with inputs from the public to help us achieve this.

What is an LCWIP?

An LCWIP is a plan that identifies walking and cycling routes for local journeys e.g. to school, work and amenities now and in the future and suggests improvements to these routes to support more people to walk and cycle. Walking and cycling for journeys can help us stay healthy, increase happiness and enable us to reconnect with nature.

You can read more information about Oxfordshire County Council's approach to LCWIP's.

Have your say on the Wantage and Grove LCWIP

Please read the supporting information, which can be found below or in the supporting documents section of this page on the right-hand side of the page.

Once you have reviewed the information, we would like to hear your views on the Wantage and Grove LCWIP, including whether the most important active travel routes and improvements have been identified and what we can do to make the plan better.

Please fill in our online survey by clicking the TAKE SURVEY button below.

We realise that walking, wheeling and cycling is not an option for everyone. We would especially like to hear the views of people who find it challenging to walk, wheel or cycle in Wantage and Grove and whether our plan meets your needs.

*Please note, the Wantage and Grove LCWIP is a separate project to the Wantage Market Place Improvements project, although they will complement each other. The LCWIP covers the whole of Wantage (including Market Place), Grove and East Challow. It includes proposals to improve walking and cycling routes into Wantage town centre. Therefore, your feedback and comments on the LCWIP are important to both projects.

We will not share any of your personal information from this consultation.

What happens next?

The consultation closes 18 September. We will then review all comments and where appropriate, incorporate these into the plan. The final version of the plan will then go through a process at Oxfordshire County Council that will allow it to be formally adopted as council policy. This will help us to bid for funding, as it becomes available, to improve walking, wheeling and cycling conditions in Wantage and Grove.
