Adopt Thames Valley's Adopted Adults Support Team are interested in finding out whether adopted people in our region (Oxfordshire, Swindon and Berkshire - excluding Slough), would like to form a group to meet virtually and/or in person so they can connect with other adoptees to talk about their unique experiences, challenges, stories or to have a voice in an understanding and sympathetic, community safe space.
If you are interested in giving feedback and/or your ideas, please can you complete this anonymised form by clicking the link below. There is also the option towards the end of the form for you to provide your contact details if you would like to be involved with the arrangements of starting a group.
If there is interest, we could help with offering a range of resources such as talks from adult adoptees with lived experiences who are familiar with contact, reading adoption records and meeting their birth family, as well as other support available. We could also promote this new group on social media and/or other organisations that would be interested in supporting a community space for adoptees.
We will use the feedback from this survey to evaluate the appetite for a support group. If you provide your contacts details, we will be in touch with you to find out how you would like to be involved.
Thank you for your time and response.
