Update from our March 2025 SEND Oxfordshire conversations for parents and carers
Consultation has concluded
Thank you to everyone who joined us at our March 2025 online SEND Oxfordshire conversations events. These termly events are held to give parents and carers the chance to connect with key representatives from the SEND Local Area Partnership (LAP) and hear first-hand about the improvements we’re making to SEND services.
The information we shared
We are pleased to publish a copy of the slides from the events and a video recording of our presenters delivering these slides live.
The events started with an introduction to the Local Area Partnership and the presenters. This was followed by an update on the SEND improvement programme and then spotlights and more detailed information on the following areas:
- SEND early intervention in mainstream schools - the importance of early intervention for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in mainstream schools and how this is being addressed through health and education teams working in schools.
- SEND vision and strategy – The SEND vision and plans for developing the SEND strategy collaboratively with young people, parents/carers, and other key stakeholders.
- The Oxfordshire Parent Carers Forum (OxPCF) and the Local Area Partnership (LAP) – partnership working between OxPCF and LAP, their roles and contributions to the SEND Improvement Programme.
We hope this information is of interest to you. If you attended one of the events and are listening back, please note that both sessions were recorded. We have used content from both events in the video recording, therefore it may differ from your experience.
