Movement and Place Plan: Science Vale
We want to hear what you think about the Movement And Place Plan for Science Vale, and how we can make it better.
The Movement and Place (MAP) Plan for Science Vale is Oxfordshire County Council’s plan to improve local areas and transport. It aims to make public spaces better for the community and upgrade travel routes and infrastructure.
This Plan is a ‘live’ document, which means it will be updated regularly to keep up with changes and future growth. It includes ideas and projects for the next 25 years.
The intention is to support sustainable development, make it easier for people to get around, improve the environment, and help make life better for everyone who lives, works, or visits Science Vale.
This MAP Plan covers the towns of Wantage and Didcot, and many villages like Culham, East and West Hendred, Chilton, Ardington, Harwell, Upton, East and West Hagbourne, North and South Moreton, Sutton Courtenay, Milton, Appleford, Long Wittenham, Little Wittenham, Clifton Hampden, and Berinsfield. A map of the MAP Plan area is shown on page 7.
We want to hear what you think about the MAP Plan for Science Vale, and how we can make it better.
We’re especially keen to hear your views on:
- The overall vision for the area
- The objectives set out in the MAP Plan
- The actions we’re planning to take to meet these objectives
- How often we should review and update the plan
Your feedback will help shape the future of Science Vale.
Before you start the survey, we recommend having a look at the MAP Plan or the Summary document and infographic.
These give a helpful overview of what the plan is about.
But don’t worry—it’s not essential to read them before taking part.
This survey should take approximately 5 - 10 minutes to complete.
This consultation will run from Monday 3 November until 11.59pm 1 Monday December 2025.
What happens after the consultation period?
Once the consultation ends, we’ll look at all the survey responses and any other feedback we’ve received. This will help us make improvements to the MAP Plan.
The updated plan will then be presented to the Council’s Cabinet in January for approval.
Once adopted, this will then replace Local Transport Plan Area Transport Strategy for Science Vale area (Connecting Oxfordshire - Area Strategies).
