About this survey
In this survey we are asking parents and carers of under-fives in Oxfordshire to tell us about what school readiness means to them, to find out more about how they access support that is currently available for families and to get feedback to help us better understand the needs of these future school starters. The insight we receive from this survey, alongside the feedback we are also seeking from professionals will help us to update our School Readiness and Lifelong Learning Strategic Plan.
About the School Readiness and Lifelong Learning Strategic Plan
The aim of the plan is to raise outcomes for all children, especially those at risk of under achieving in their early years. It’s part of the work we are doing to support each child in Oxfordshire to have the best start in life.
Our current plan is here and has four main priorities for children to be ready for school and lifelong learning. We are reviewing this plan to check the priorities are still right, if anything is missing or if anything should be added. We know that the challenges families faced during COVID-19 has meant that many children are beginning their schooling without having experienced the usual levels of social interaction. We want our updated plan to take into account the difficulties and challenges that families have be dealing with over the last few years.
Have your say
Please complete the survey by clicking on the blue ‘take survey’ button below.
It is open from Wednesday 8 February 2023 and will close on Sunday 12 March 2023 at 11.59.
What happens next
After the survey has closed, we will read all the responses. We will then update the plan taking account of the views and experiences provided.
A summary of the feedback we receive, new recommendations and the updated draft plan will be shared with the Children’s Trust.
Once the plan is agreed, we will provide a ‘You said, we did’ update on this project page.
