This consultation has now concluded.

We're asking for your views on the proposal to clarify more precisely the points at which the existing ‘Prohibition of Motor Vehicles’ restrictions apply on Divinity Road, James Street, and Magdalen Road. The proposed updated descriptions are as follows:

LocationCurrent descriptionProposed description
Divinty Road
Cowley Road - North-eastwards into Divinity Road
a point in-line with the south-western building line of No.76 Divinity Road
James Street
Cowley Road - South-westwards into James Street
a point in-line with the property boundaries of No.34/ 35 James Street
Magdalen Road
Cowley Road - South-eastwards into Magdalen Road
a point in-line with the south-western building line of No.126 Magdalen Road.

Notes:

These proposals do not make any material changes, rather the described positions of the three filter locations will be updated, with the installed/signed restrictions currently in place ‘on-the-ground’ (since November 2023) remaining unaffected by this administrative amendment. It will remain unlawful for motor vehicles to proceed beyond the specified points on entry from Cowley Road.

Please be aware that any comments on the LTN scheme in general will not be considered as part of this specific consultation - further information on the East Oxford low traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs) can be found here, and questions/feedback can be sent to: eastoxfordltn@oxfordshire.gov.uk

Have your say.

Please read the detailed information provided on this consultation and take the time to complete the survey as your views and opinions matter. Your response should be completed and returned by 5pm on Friday 26 April 2024.

Whilst we will endeavor to answer simple queries during the course of the consultation, any more complex questions/issues will be appraised and dealt with as part of consultation process.

What happens next?

The County Council will review the responses and if necessary (i.e. if objections are received) prepare a report to be presented to the Cabinet Member for Highway Management at a meeting scheduled for later in 2024. This will be public meeting at which members of the public may apply to speak. The agenda and reports for meetings will be made available on the Oxfordshire County Council web site about a week before the meeting (please note that occasionally it is necessary to defer reports to a later meeting, and it is therefore advisable to check the agenda ahead of attending a meeting). The Forward Plan of decisions meetings can be viewed here.
