This consultation has now concluded.

We're asking for your views on the proposal to formally install a new Minimum Impact (low signage) CPZ in the Donnington area of Oxford. This follows on from the ‘informal’ consultations carried out in 2019 & 2021, and the subsequent approval given to progress to formal consultation at a later date following the implementation of previously approved CPZs in other locations.

It is proposed that the scheme would be introduced as a ‘Permit Parking Area’ (PPA) which uses entry and repeater signs to inform motorists of the restrictions in place (e.g. no bay markings), with operational hours for the zone for ‘Residents Permit Parking’ being Monday to Sunday between 8am and 8pm. Non-permit holders will be eligible to park for a maximum of 2 hours with no return within 2 hours during these hours. This affords residents & visitors the flexibility of where they can park and reduces the amount of sign and line clutter

Additional waiting restrictions in the form of ‘Prohibition of waiting at any time’ (double yellow lines) will be introduced in parts of: Arnold Road, Boundary Brook Road, Freelands Road, Meadow Lane (southern end), Nixon Road, Pipkin Way, Radcliffe Road, and Townsend Square. Whilst the existing ‘School Keep Clear’ markings on Boundary Brook Road outside Larkrise Primary School will be supported by an enforceable ‘No Stopping 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday’ restriction.

Note: Residents of: Addison Crescent, Arnold Road, Boundary Brook Road, Donnington Bridge Road (Even Nos. 2-86 & Odd Nos. 1-81), Freelands Road, George Moore Close, Henley Avenue (Odd Nos. 3-9), Iffley Road (Evens Nos. 294-370 & Odd Nos. 299-379), Iffley Road Service Road (Even Nos.310-340), Meadow Lane (Odd Nos. 301-379), Nixon Road, Pipkin Way, Quartermain Close, Radcliffe Road, Swinburne Road, and Townsend Square will be able to apply for a maximum of two residents annual parking permits per property.

Have your say.

Please read the detailed information provided on this consultation and take the time to complete the survey as your views and opinions matter. Your response should be completed and returned by Friday 02 December 2022.

Whilst we will endeavor to answer simple queries during the course of the consultation, any more complex questions/issues will be appraised and dealt with as part of consultation process.

What happens next?

The County Council will review the responses and if necessary (i.e. if objections are received) prepare a report to be presented to the Cabinet Member for Highway Management at a meeting scheduled for later in 2022/early in 2023. This will be public meeting at which members of the public may apply to speak. The agenda and reports for meetings will be made available on the Oxfordshire County Council web site about a week before the meeting (please note that occasionally it is necessary to defer reports to a later meeting, and it is therefore advisable to check the agenda ahead of attending a meeting). The Forward Plan of decisions meetings can be viewed here.
