Consultation has concluded
The consultation closed at midnight on Wednesday 9th September 2020
OUTCOME: Following the consultation, the Vale Academy Trust submitted an application to the Regional Schools Commissioner. The proposal was approved in December 2020.
The Vale Academy Trust is proposing to change the age range of Millbrook School, Grove, Wantage from 3-11 to 2-11, to offer additional places in the nursery from 1st January 2020.
Millbrook currently runs a nursery which provides for children aged 3 and 4. Due to building developments in Grove and the surrounding area there is an increasing demand for places for children of this age and also for 2-year olds.
The Vale Academy Trust, by agreement with Oxfordshire County Council, proposes to use the vacant space within the Millbrook School building, previously used by the Adult Education Service, to expand the nursery.
The proposal will increase the number of spaces for 3- and 4- year olds from 78 to 126 and create 16 new spaces for 2- year olds (all are part-time-equivalent).
The school will appoint appropriately qualified staff according to government regulations to provide for the 2- year olds and also increase the number of staff for 3- and 4- year olds.
