About
Rural connectivity and supporting rural residents
Encouraging more walking, cycling, public and shared transport use is a central aim in the Local Transport and Connectivity Plan (LTCP). However, we recognise that much of Oxfordshire is rural and so how we apply the LTCP policies to achieve these outcomes will be different in rural areas.
We would value your thoughts on the following ideas, or any other suggestions you have for how we can improve rural connectivity and support rural residents to make fewer trips by car:
- Develop a rural walking and cycling network including a Strategic Active Travel Network and Greenways
- Continue to support our public transport network and develop ‘mobility hubs’ which provide interchange with different transport modes
- Work with local communities to develop community transport solutions
- Work to apply the 20-minute neighbourhood concept where relevant services are provided within a 20 minute journey
- Improving digital connectivity
