We are writing to inform you that Oxfordshire County Council intends to construct the following features on Bicester Road, in Kidlington:

  1. a new Toucan Crossing (a signal-controlled crossing for use by both pedestrians and pedal cyclists) to be located approx. 455 metres north of the roundabout junction with Oxford Road,
  2. a 126 metre section of the existing footway on the eastern side of Bicester Road, east side of the new crossing, will be widened to 3 metres and converted to a shared use path, allowing both pedestrians & pedal-cyclists to safely access the crossing facility, and
  3. two bus-stop ‘clearways’ with associated ‘No stopping except local buses’ restrictions, to be located on both sides of Bicester Road, the bus cages will be approximately 13 metres long & 2 metres wide.

The scheme has been put forward following the relevant planning approvals being granted, and seeks to help improve active travel routes & road safety in the area.

Have your say.

Any observations in relation to the proposals should be returned by 5pm on Friday 24 April 2026.

What happens next?

The County Council will appraise & consider the responses as necessary.
