Consultation has concluded

We want to make walking and cycling easier and more enjoyable for all in Kidlington and Gosford built-up area and links to immediately surrounding villages, including:

  • Hampton Poyle
  • Islip
  • Yarnton
  • Begbroke
  • Thrupp
  • Shipton on Cherwell
  • Bunkers Hill

We have drafted a plan to help us achieve this called the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP), with input from local stakeholders and following national guidance.

An LCWIP identifies key destinations where people can walk and/or cycle in a particular area (in this case Kidlington and the areas mentioned above) and it makes suggestions for improving the routes at these locations and between locations.

Walking and cycling is not only an important part of the solution to combat climate change, but it also has many health benefits.

Have your say:

We’d like to hear what you think about our LCWIP and whether our plan identifies all important routes and improvements and what we can do to make it better.

Please fill in our online survey by clicking the ‘COMPLETE FORM’ button below.

We realise that walking and cycling is not an option for everyone. We would particularly like to hear the views of people who find it challenging, in particular the issues faced, where you believe improvements are needed and whether our plan meets your needs. We will not share any of your personal information from this consultation.

The consultation closes on 7 November and we will then review all comments and where agreed, incorporate these into the plan. The plan will then go through a formal process at Oxfordshire County Council where it will be adopted. This will enable us to bid for funding as it becomes available to improve walking and cycling in your area.

The LCWIP is available under the ‘Consultation document’ section on right side of page.

Alternative formats:

We know that some people can’t, or find it difficult to, take part in online consultations or need things in a different format such as large print, easy read or a different language, to have their say.

If you, or anyone you know needs a printed copy of the questionnaire, information in an alternative format or help with sharing their thoughts on our ideas board please email engagementteam@oxfordshire.gov.uk or call the county council's Customer Services Team on 01865 792422. Please note the council's Customer Services Team are unable to answer any detailed questions about the LCWIP.
