Tell us what you think about your recent experience of using Oxfordshire’s household waste recycling centre (HWRC) booking system.

Introduction

Providing waste disposal and household waste recycling centres (HWRCs) is a statutory service.

Oxfordshire County Council introduced a booking system on 14 January 2026 to help modernise the service and drive efficiency. All visitors now need to book online, before they visit an HWRC.

Benefits for visitors include reduced queue times, certainty of access, improved proactive assistance to visitors using the services by site staff, and better access to information for each visit.

The booking system has now been in place for eight months, with an average of 60,000 bookings per month across all sites. It has operated with minimal issues, and there is no evidence of a link to increased fly-tipping.

We are seeking feedback from site users about their experiences and any ways in which we can make improvements.
