Dear Teacher,

We are really pleased your secondary school/6th form/college is interested in taking part in one of our young people's budget sounding board events.

This will be a great opportunity for students to understand

  • a bit more about how local politics works
  • what the council’s role is
  • their role in the community, and
  • budget management

They will also meet and chat to local county councillors, whilst building team work skills and and having citizenship conversations!

This free opportunity will include lunch for students and accompanying staff. The engagement and consultation team at Oxfordshire County Council (who are DBS checked) will be hosting this 'conference style' event and delivering the activities with some of our county councillors and senior officers.

We have 2 events taking place across Oxfordshire and hopefully one of them will suit you and your students (arrival from 9:40am, start at 10am, finish at 2pm promptly).

  • County Hall, Oxford - 17 November - FULL
  • Didcot Civic Hall, Didcot - 24 November - Limited spaces available

On each of these days we can accommodate several schools, who can each bring up to 15 students. This group can be mixed from different year groups or made up of just one/two year groups, its up to you.

By completing this quick online form, you are registering your interest to attend and reserve spaces for your school which will give us an indication of numbers and costs. Please register by Friday 3 November at 4pm.

All Oxfordshire secondary schools are invited to take part. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. A waiting list will be created in case of cancellations. With that in mind, if you find you cannot attend, please let us know straight away so we can release the spaces to other schools. Final participant names and numbers will be needed by noon on Wednesday 1 November.

If you have any questions please email consultations@oxfordshire.gov.uk

Please complete the initial registration form below so we know you are interested in attending. We will get back to you with information for the event.

Once you have received and completed the Sign up form (which will be emailed) please hit the Sign up button below to upload the form.

We look forward to meeting you soon.
