Banbury LCWIP consultation

We want to make walking and cycling easier and more enjoyable for all in Banbury.

We have drafted a plan based on national guidance and input from local stakeholders to help us achieve this. The document is called a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP).

The LCWIP identifies destinations in Banbury and the surrounding area that are accessible by walking and cycling and makes suggestions for how to improve these walking and cycling routes.

Switching from another mode of transport to walking and cycling is not only an important part of the solution to combat climate change, but also has many health benefits.

Have your say on the Banbury LCWIP?

We would like to hear your views on the Banbury LCWIP, including whether the most important walking and cycling routes and improvements have been identified and what we can do to make the plan better.

Please fill in our online survey by clicking the ‘TAKE SURVEY’ button below.

We realise that walking and/or cycling is not an option for everyone. We would especially like to hear the views of people who find it challenging to walk or cycle in Banbury and the surrounding area and whether our plan meets your needs.

We will not share any of your personal information from this consultation.

Documents to review

The draft LCWIP document and its appendices (including maps in high-resolution PDF format) are available under the ‘Consultation Documents’ section on the right-hand side of the page (or below if you are viewing on mobile).

What happens next?

The consultation closes on 26 February 2023. We will then review all comments and where appropriate, incorporate these into the plan. The final version of the plan will then go through a process at Oxfordshire County Council that will allow it to be formally adopted as council policy. This will help us to bid for funding as it becomes available to improve walking and cycling conditions in Banbury and the surrounding area.
