Consultation has concluded
The all-age unpaid carers strategy was developed through engagement with over 600 carers in Oxfordshire. In June 2023 we asked for feedback on the draft strategy to make sure that it reflected carers’ needs. 75 people responded to the survey, helping to shape the final strategy.
You said:
Overall, you support the priorities and commitments in the strategy.
You didn't like the phrase 'living their best lives' in the vision and felt it didn’t reflect the challenges carers face.
You questioned the meaning of 'vulnerable' in Priority 2.
You want us to be accountable, and want to be able to check we are following the action plans.
We did:
We will use the priorities and commitments to guide our work throughout the life of the strategy.
We changed 'living their best lives' to 'living their lives to the fullest'.
We took the word 'vulnerable' out of Priority 2, as it wasn’t needed.
We put things in place to make sure you can see the progress against the strategy, including:
Sharing updates on a dedicated page of the Carer’s Oxfordshire website and in the Care Matters newsletter
Setting up a group of carers who will review our progress and report back to carers and to Oxfordshire’s Health and Wellbeing Board
